52 on Fridays: Texture

This week the theme was texture.  We had fun adding in some simple texture to make this birthday shoot a little more sassy!  Finish the circle and check out Jenny @ www.sunflower-photography.com

How is he 1 already? {Mandan ND Photographer}

I know it's super cliche, but man, I can't believe how fast time flies!  This shoot went nothing as planned.  Our balloons floated away, the ground wasn't even enough for our chair, he wanted nothing to do with my fuzzy blankets.....but you know what?  That's okay!  I always stress to parents that we'll catch smiles, especially if we just let them play.  His idea of fun was pretending to eat the leaves.  Now that's a real smile! :)

Trey: 2013 Senior {Bismarck ND Photographer}

Trey's mom called because he was going to graduate a year early and needed some senior pictures.  He was not overly excited in the beginning, but I think he ended up not completely hating the process :)  A  huge thank-you to his sister for helping me drag him around the yard and making him smile!!!

Catch Up! {ND Newborn Photographer}

I am going to try to play catch up this month.  I was super good about adding sneak peeks to my Facebook page, but have been severely lacking on the blog front.   I'll try to just stick to two or three images at a time :)  We have a gorgeous maternity picture and the beautiful baby that resulted!

52 on Fridays: Symmetry

I was totally stuck between two pictures this week and they are both very different.  Immediately when I heard symmetry I thought of flowers.  Unfortunately, it's been hotter than a pistol here and the only flowers I haven't killed are my violets.  Then, on my way inside our door caught my eye.  It's pretty much the fanciest thing in this fixer-upper of ours :) Next, check out the talented Robin Moore.

Also, on a totally unrelated note, I was working on getting things ready for my upcoming school year, and one of the things I worked on was coming up with a better way to teach my students rotational symmetry.  I swear the only symmetry I learned in school was the lesson with the dotted lines (how many ways could you fold it?!?)....

52 on Friday: Patterns

One from the honeymoon in the Keys...this is a long stretch to fit into today's theme but I was having trouble importing off my good camera.  Here is one from my point and shoot on the honeymoon.  We had a little pattern going.  Every night at 8:15 we'd sit and watch the sunset, and every night it looked this amazing!  This is with no editing whatsoever.  Isn't it breathtaking?!?  Next check out Cathy Kuhlman, @ http://www.cathykuhlmanphotography.blogspot.com

52 on Fridays: Framed

It is great to be back into the swing of things!  Last night we had a BBQ with some family so I quick snapped some of these pics.  I think considering she was super hot and sweaty (Emmy we haaaaave to be in the shade.  My toes are hot!) they turned out cute!  Next check out:  Robin Moore, Cary, NC, http://www.rkmoorephotography.com

52 on Friday: Abstract

This week's theme was abstract.  Most who read this blog know we bought a new-to-us house that has needed a lot of work.  We'd like to put down fake hardwood but in order to do so we had to finish laying the sticky tiles that they only half put down.  So for the time being we have this beautiful retro floor, 1/3 red walls, 1/3 teal walls, and 1/3 fake newspaper walls..... 52 on Friday: Movement {Bismarck ND Photographer}

This 9 month old was all about moving as fast as he could away from the camera!  He wanted nothing to do with any of our ideas :)
Next, see how Tammy interpreted movement at: http://tbilodeauphotography.com/blog/52-fridays/movement/

Landon {Bismarck ND Photographer}

I was so excited to see Landon again for his 9 months pictures!  We had an usually cold morning so we had to push the shoot to the late afternoon. By then, every single cloud had disappeared!  Perfect for the park, not so perfect for pictures :)  I think we found enough shade to get some cute ones!

Logan {ND Natural Light Photographer}

I met up with this cutie in Fargo.  We weren't sure between the rain showers and the shyness if we'd get any, but after awhile the sun came out and the weather warmed up, and so did he!

52 on Friday: Round {Bismarck, ND Photographer}

The theme for this week was round.  My sister, niece, and I took a walk on Wednesday to this super fun park by their house.  It's actually a school park, but I find that most school parks are way better than the city parks around here. There were lots of things that were round too!  I couldn't pick of course, so here are my two favorites :)

52 on Friday: Perspective

I had the privilege of "shooting" a terrific family on Monday that really put things into perspective for me.  They are anxiously awaiting their fourth child.  Instead of carrying the child for 9 months, they are adopting.  This is the second child they are adopting.  For some of the pictures we had the new little boy "join" us.  The other kids kept saying, "I want Million to sit by me," or "I'll hold Million."  It was such a neat perspective to see them love this sibling like their own, before even meeting him!

52 on Friday: Blue {Bismarck ND Photographer}

Hello!  I do not have my regular work computer so I had to play around with some online editing programs.  I ended up using www.picmonkey.com.  Not bad!  After mine, check out Kimberlee Edwards, Raleigh Durham Photographer at http://www.kimberleeedwardsblog.com to see how she interpreted blue!

Adorable 6 month Old {Mandan ND Photographer}

Patrick likes to give C's momma credit for him and I meeting each other. Patrick and I met on a clean-up trip after Hurricane Katrina.  He went to class with C's momma, took her seat on the bus when she couldn't go, met me, and the rest was history :)

Isn't he a cutie?
