52 on Friday: Freshly Baked {Mandan, ND Photographer}

It used to be a Christmas tradition to go make Krumkake and Spritz cookies with my grandma.  I tried to continue the tradition this year and even got my husband to be my "roller!"  It might have been the, "It's this or looking at Christmas lights" threat, but whatever works!!

I would have posted an actual picture of something freshly baked, but like I said, it was the first time by myself, and they aren't very pretty!  Tasty, but not pretty!

52 of Fridays: Circles

The theme this week is circles.  We put up our very first tree together.  It's quite the site with our array of ornaments.  My contribution to our tree was my angel ornament collection. My grandma has given me one angel every year since I was born.  She did inform me that now that I'm married I'm too old to be getting ornaments :)   This was my very first one!

52 on Fridays: Texture

This week the theme was texture.  We had fun adding in some simple texture to make this birthday shoot a little more sassy!  Finish the circle and check out Jenny @ www.sunflower-photography.com

How is he 1 already? {Mandan ND Photographer}

I know it's super cliche, but man, I can't believe how fast time flies!  This shoot went nothing as planned.  Our balloons floated away, the ground wasn't even enough for our chair, he wanted nothing to do with my fuzzy blankets.....but you know what?  That's okay!  I always stress to parents that we'll catch smiles, especially if we just let them play.  His idea of fun was pretending to eat the leaves.  Now that's a real smile! :)

Pinterest Anyone?!?

Let me know if you'd like me to add some flair to your images!  These are super cute hanging up!

Trey: 2013 Senior {Bismarck ND Photographer}

Trey's mom called because he was going to graduate a year early and needed some senior pictures.  He was not overly excited in the beginning, but I think he ended up not completely hating the process :)  A  huge thank-you to his sister for helping me drag him around the yard and making him smile!!!

Catch Up! {ND Newborn Photographer}

I am going to try to play catch up this month.  I was super good about adding sneak peeks to my Facebook page, but have been severely lacking on the blog front.   I'll try to just stick to two or three images at a time :)  We have a gorgeous maternity picture and the beautiful baby that resulted!

52 on Friday: Innocence

This week's theme was innocence.  As a teacher I see children lose their innocence faster and faster with today's technology, tv shows, and music.  It makes me sad to see kids that don't want to play and have no imaginations.  Kids that you give a tub full of blocks and they look at you like you're crazy.  It makes my heart smile to spend time with my niece who still thinks she is a full out princess (or butterfly, depending on the day!) Next, check out liza hall http://www.lizahallphotography.com and see how she interpreted the theme.

52 on Fridays: Fresh

Well, with school starting next week I instantly thought fresh crayons :)  I think there is almost nothing better than opening a fresh box of crayons.  It just smells like a fresh start!  On my way to take pictures at school I saw that the fresh corn stand I always go to was open.  My crayon picture taking adventure quickly turned into a freezing fresh corn adventure.  Always delish!  Next, check out Faye Kingston, Miramichi, NB Photographer, http://fkphotography.ca and see how she interpreted fresh!

52 on Fridays: Symmetry

I was totally stuck between two pictures this week and they are both very different.  Immediately when I heard symmetry I thought of flowers.  Unfortunately, it's been hotter than a pistol here and the only flowers I haven't killed are my violets.  Then, on my way inside our door caught my eye.  It's pretty much the fanciest thing in this fixer-upper of ours :) Next, check out the talented Robin Moore.

Also, on a totally unrelated note, I was working on getting things ready for my upcoming school year, and one of the things I worked on was coming up with a better way to teach my students rotational symmetry.  I swear the only symmetry I learned in school was the lesson with the dotted lines (how many ways could you fold it?!?)....

52 on Friday: Patterns

One from the honeymoon in the Keys...this is a long stretch to fit into today's theme but I was having trouble importing off my good camera.  Here is one from my point and shoot on the honeymoon.  We had a little pattern going.  Every night at 8:15 we'd sit and watch the sunset, and every night it looked this amazing!  This is with no editing whatsoever.  Isn't it breathtaking?!?  Next check out Cathy Kuhlman, @ http://www.cathykuhlmanphotography.blogspot.com
