52 on Friday: Warmth

This week's theme was warmth. I'm thankful my niece (with a sinus cold, none the less) is so willing!

52 on Friday: Words

This weeks theme was "Words."

Since I teach 5th grade I deal with a lot of words every day :)  Funny story from this week:  We are learning about the Revolutionary War in Social Studies, our reading stories in our reading basal happen to take place during the Revolutionary War, and low and behold we flip open to Science and our new chapter is all about the revolution of the Earth around the sun!  One student voiced exactly what I was thinking in my head, "Ms. Bjornson, if I have to learn one more meaning for the word revolution, I might scream!"  As confusing as all those words are, I'm happy to pass on the love of reading to my students!

This "Love of Reading" session quickly turned into a Valentine's Day session :) Next, check out Amy Schilling, Austin, TX Photographer,

52 on Fridays: Landscape

Welcome back to 52 on Fridays. First, I didn't explain the blog circle the best last week.  Under my picture each week you'll find a link to another photographer's website.  At the next website you'll find another link, and on, and on, until you eventually make it back to mine!  (Last week there were about 18 blogs or so...)

Moving on...I had so many ideas for this theme...that flopped.

First, I wanted to show the landscape of the man camps that have been sprouting up out west.  I was unable to drive there last weekend, so that idea was out.  In case any of you have heard anything about the surge of jobs in ND....check out this link!

Then I thought about the Mandan area:  Missouri river foothills, Fort Lincoln, the old bridge...wait.  I leave for work at 7:30 am (it's dark) and get done at 5:30 pm (it's dark).  Shoot.

Next idea:  The stars!  Perfect, since I'm only outside when it's dark! Right?!?  Wrong. Monday (cloudy), Tuesday (cloudy), Wednesday (snowing and WINDY), and Thursday (girls' night after school so the blog had to be done...I've got priorities! :) )   Hmmm....

Guess I'll have to cheat.  I took this in Wisconsin. I have always wanted to see a Wisconsin autumn, but during the summer when I lived there the leaves were obviously green and when I went back over fall break all the leaves were already off. I made Patrick take me for a hike every day until I found these leaves!

Next, check out the AMAZING  Jenn Duguay from Valleyview, Alberta @  Unless you don't have time, because you'll want to spend all day there!

52 on Fridays: New

I have enjoyed all that my hobby photography had to offer this year, but as Patrick and I look for a place to live after our wedding, I would really like to rent/own a natural light studio and take my photography career a step further.  I joined a forum called The Bloom Forum and have been learning so many new things!  To take it another step I am joining a blogging group called 52 on Fridays.  Each week there will be a new theme to stretch us as photographers and learn from each other as we (and you!) check out the full blog circle.

This weeks theme was "New."  Since this year I will be starting a new journey with marriage I decided to use my engagement ring on one of the vintage hankies I am using for wedding decoration. ( I know a vintage hankie is not new, but try to focus on the new journey for me :)

Next, check out Christa Paustenbaugh, Manassas, VA. and leave her some love!

Ryan and Kristen

I had the priviledge to take candid shots at my cousin's wedding this weekend. What a great way to celebrate the New Year!  Boy, did we ring it in :)
