What you're missing out on if you don't have winter...

First, a disclaimer.  My camera is NEVER in the right place at the right time.  When I really wanted to catch these shots my car was 1/2 a mile down the hill at the bottom of our driveway.  It's still spring here, meaning it's still to muddy to drive up.  I was not about to walk down and get it, so the cell phone pictures will have to do.   I think you'll get the gist though!

I often catch myself grumbling about winter, when in all actuality, I really don't mind it.  I think that everyone should experience a winter at least once so that they find a newfound excitement and respect for the following things:

1) Sun---after weeks of dreary, misty, snowy weather when you walk out the door and feel the sun's warmth on your face it brings this feeling of happiness I can't explain.

2) Plants---when all you've seen is brown and white covering the ground, it makes your heart skip a beat to see something green sprouting!

3) Green grass---like above, it's just SO refreshing to see green grass, it literally brightens my day!

SNOW DAY!

I had my first official snow day as a teacher.  LOVED it! I have been jealous all year because my mom has gotten many snow days.  I was stuck in town at a friend's house so we grilled steaks, played Scattegories, had maple syrup snow cones (no yellow snow I promise!), and got some MUCH needed rest.  I heard many people complaining, because we will now have to go to school on Easter Monday, but I really try to live in the moment, and am ALL about a random day off :) If you still have clean snow and want to make snow cones...grab a cup full, pour on some maple syrup, and enjoy!!

Here is a photo of the heavy, wet snow.   Forgive the cell-phone photo.

Spring Break

I got last Thursday and Friday off for Spring Break (aka state basketball tournament break....)
Does anyone else have those spring breaks, or is it just ND?
I had a great time; however, I wasn't the best about taking pictures, so here ya have it...
First I spent some time in Binford with my parents and grandparents.
How did the chicken cross the road?!  It asked the turkeys!!
Then I picked up my niece from daycare.  It was beautiful out, so
after a snack we headed out to play!

I know, I know..BLURRY...however I just had to try and quick catch the
I'm 2 years old and can stomp off when I'm mad picture.

Here comes the, "Hey, I'll try and get my way and plop on the
ground."
Look who surprised me early!  I tried to get a
picture of the actual champagne, but you just
get his face, which I think is equally
worth it :)

Last, but not least, we got to have some pool
time with the family.  My sister is going to hate
me for putting up this picture, but seriously,
how can you not love this perfect 2 year
old look?!  Can anyone say senior video?!?

More new fonts!

More free fonts from one of my favorite blogs, Kevin and Amanda!  Check 'em out here!  If you scroll down long enough there is a great step-by-step tutorial on how to get the fonts to actually  work on your computer.  Trust me, if I can understand it, anyone can!

Late for School

And this folks, is why I was late for school today.  Frost HAS to be one of my favorite things about winter.  I know...I know...I'm always yappin' about frost.  Always looking for the positives about winter :)  Speaking of positives, we are having "spring" break starting tomorrow, with a giant rain/snow storm on it's way to grace us with it's presence.  Think spring!
